CPOI joins India on a ONE DAY, Mega medical camp for the screening of 5-6000 lives, on February 3rd, 2019, in Mahbubabad, Telangana, India. This will be a Guinness Record breaking event.
This event is inaugurated by Mr. Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR), Minister for Information Technology at Government of Telangana and Dr. A. Ramkishan is India’s Central Govt Deputy Drug Controller.
In this event oral, breast, lung, cervical cancers, the most common cancers, will be screened for. Radiologic studies such as Chest X-rays, Ultrasounds, Mammograms; EKG’s and labs for infections such as Hepatitis B and C as well as the basic screens for Hypertension, Diabetes, and others will be performed. Many basic complaints and ailments will also be diagnosed and treated.
You might ask, “how in the world?!” Yes, we would like to fill a Boeing 747 Jet plane with volunteers!
We need volunteers equipped with skills and tools in any area of medicine, including the allied health care fields and those with willing hearts, who are adaptable, teachable and coachable.
Besides a life-changing experience, being a part of a Guinness event, in a third world country, is a great opportunity for students, faculty and staff in high school, nursing, medical and allied health fields, for clinical studies, research, and statistics, publications; to boost their resumes and much more. Similarly, for those in other humanitarian organizations and desires to serve. For other companies and hospitals a great way to receive recognition for their Corporate Social Responsibility! The Requirements:
- A US passport and
- An Indian visa is essential and foremost. The visa can be easily completed online.
NOTE: this will be a VISITOR visa. The PURPOSE is a medical and social service. A rough estimate of the cost is as follows: travel costs 900 to 1200 or 1250; room and board about $100 a day (on the high end – still negotiating). Transportation is extra, though not much.
